Born April 3rd 1958

I love Alec but have trouble with mixing him and one of his other brothers up. There are all really good actors and just found out that Adam isn;t a brother, no relations. I thought for sure he was a younger brother.

Never seen any of his broadway stuff but love all his movies. Cat in the Hat my favorite of course

I like Alec, I happen to think his best roles have been played out on SNL.

very under appreciated actor.

Who knows what might have happened if he would have remained in the roll after Hunt For Red October instead of Harrison Ford taking it over. He might have been one of the biggest actors in the world today like Ford became.

Never thought of that.

Did him and one of his other brothers both play on Knotts Landing? That may have been the trouble? Starting off as a crazy loon?

Over the years I have generally enjoyed the Baldwin Boys' movies and have considered them rather handsome.  :)  In addition, Alec seemed to have a knack for comedy, especially when appearing on SNL.

However, I have lost all respect for the man after hearing his absolutely horrible voicemail tirade to his daughter, which he made on April 11th.  He and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, went through  a nasty divorce and now are going through an even nastier custody battle over their daughter Ireland, who is only 11 years old.  Evidently when his daughter missed a scheduled phone call with him, Balwin went beserk and left her an abusive message full of humiliating insults and threats. As a ressult, his visitation rights on April 18th were temporarily suspended, and in a future hearing he could permanently be denied all visiation rights and contact with Ireland.

I don't care how much 2 married individuals can grow to despise eachother.  When children are involved you do NOT make them pawns in the ugly divorce proceedings and you do NOT take your frustrations out on them.  Not only has Baldwin's daughter had to endure the original phone call, but she has also had to suffer through having the whole nation hear the recorded message, including no doubt her own peers.

That is horrible. I hate when parents take thier frustration out on the kids. With celebrities it is much worse cuz everyone gets to hear it. I haven't heard the phone conversation or seen it yet.

You are one of the few who hasn't heard about it, because it's been broadcast all over tv. I felt so bad for Ireland. To have her own father say such nasty things, which I refuse to repeat, is bad enough, but for her to know everyone else knows makes it even more traumatic. I hope the courts consider it a form of verbal child abuse, because that's what his ranting and raving was.

Alec Baldwin has no excuse for what he said on his daughters voicemail other than anger... Kim Basinger denies leaking the tape to the press.

LMAO at this docotored video of the rant

If Basinger leaked the tape, she is equally responsible for the trauma Ireland no doubt has experienced.  However, even if she did, it is no justification for Alec's actions.  Parents, and I use that word loosely, who act so irresponsibly and selfishly, making their children pawns in their divorce proceedings, do not deserve their children.

There is no justification for any of the actions that havetaken place in the last few days. Interestingly Alec has agreed to do a segment on tommorows 4/27 episode of The View, I'm sure he'll have lots to say.

Very interesting. Alec Baldwin was definately a jerk for saying the things he said. However, I don't believe that makes him a bad father. I mean, we've all said things to loved ones we wish we never said. Don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying anything he said about his child. He should have never said it in the first place. However, I also think people deserve a second chance. I mean, it could definately be worse. He could be abusing his child, but it doesn't sound like he is. He just made a poor decision, and I can't blame people for thinking he's a jerk. But as I also mentioned earlier, I think people deserve a second chance, and I don't think saying what he said makes him a bad father either.
