The first thing I want to say about this film is that many people have said that it is the same thing as The Descent only worse, I disagree on both counts.
The only similartiy between The Cave and The Descent are the caves and the fact that something is in them, I do not think The Descent was better or worse, i would give them an equal amount of stars athough tambermn will be around soon to diagree with me. The Cave also came out a year before The Descent so if anything The Descent somewhat imitated The Cave. The Cave is a film about a diving team that is asked to help explore the cave by a doctor who was under the assumption that the Cave had never been explored.
When they get into the cave they soon realize that they are not the first people to have been down there and that's when things get realy weird, they realize that they are being hunted by parasite infected people & animals that have been in the cave for hundreds of years.
I know the stories sound oddly similar but there is something about this film that seperates the two, maybe it's just the plot, idk, I just know the film worked and I liked it. 3 1/2 stars

Yeah, the Descent probably copied the Cave. However, the Descent, at least to me, was still the better movie. This movie had plenty of potential, but let me down a lot. The Descent had me on the edge of my seat for most of the movie.
