The Wicker Man is a silly movie, that makes very little, if any sense.

It is not scary,
The acting is poor,
And did I say that it makes no sense at all, lol.

I wonder how Nick Cage ever read this script and said "wow, this will be a good movie". The ending ritual scene could not be any more ridiculous.

For the first 3/4 of the movie my wife and I said over and over - what the heck is going on. And that did not stop right until the end. Basically none of the movie from the begining to the end connects together.

I would actually recommend NOT even renting this one. i will be very surprised if anyone actually likes this movie.

I rented the original version of this on netflix awhile back and never got past the first 20 minutes. I really want to rent it again and actually watch it all the way through. I have not seen the remake yet though.

I really dont know if it was just not good, or if I was just not intrested in the movie at that time. I was hearing so much about the remake so I wanted to see the orginal one first, but once it came I guess I lost all intrest in the movie so I never really watched. But I do want to get it again.

Just got thru watching this movie, it was GREAT! And what a shocking end! Won't spoil that. (The ending fit, but SUCKED!!!)I just was told by Lydia there was an alternate ending, so maybe we watched a different version?? Still havent figured how those work, never get thru the same 1 twice, lol. But will for this 1, so I can review again.:P BTW never seen the original.

It made perfect sense to us, it did throw us off every now and then. But certain details did come together in the end. Not too much I can say without really giving away the spoilers.??? That was the point in the movie, all the lies and deceptions and not knowing who or what to believe. These folks on the island spent many many years planing this out. Nicolas Cage's character was great, he was in morning, popping pills like mad, was in just the right frame of mind to be messed with. Some of the great actors and actresses in here seemed a bit off, but they was playing the part of playing a part.

my favorite line was when Nicolas Cage said " You have my permission to stay out of my Fuc#ing way"

I never saw the original so I cant say much regarding that but i just saw this over the weekend and my honest opinion is that it stunk, the ending went beyond sucking.... it killed the whole friggin movie. The acting stunk which is not something i say for Cage. The trailer was the best thing about the film.
1 star and I only give it that due to the fact that it had potential, if only they wouldnt have screwed it up so badly.
