ha ha Jess you know Tuesday is the day for going to the theater lol. We already had the day planned but Julia over slept and we only got to see 1 movie. I really really really wanted to see Hannible Rising. Maybe next week

My so-called input on the movie is on page 2

I'm watching "The Sound of Thunder" tonight.  It's a very cool little movie on the consequences of time travel if you accidentally change something way back when.

It's mostly computer animated, but you know what?  It's getting really difficult to tell!  The story is crisp and well-paced, the special effects are very cool, and even thought the cast is all b-list, they really work hard and pull it off very nicely.

This poor little movie was made on a shoestring budget, but the beauty of that is that they did it so very well that I think there is a revolution in movies coming down the line.

We used to get cheap B-movies that were fun to watch, but had really hokey effects.  With computer animation, even a B movie is a fun experience!

Speaking of "Superstar"  the play "Jesus Christ Superstar" is playing in my town right now with the guy from the movie, David Neely playing Jesus for his farewell performance.  I'd give my eye teeth to go to that, but I have to teach night school on Thursday!

Oh the irony of fate!

Last night I watched the excellent update of "the Count of Monte Cristo" with my night school class.  Then I went home and cued up the 1962 restored version of "Journey to the Center of the Earth."  That's the James Mason version and it's really great.

It has special effects by George Pal, the guy who did "The Time Machine" and "Jason and the Argonauts."

There's something addictive about those shows, isn't there?  I've got all those on VHS and I always go back to them when I run out of things to watch.
