Hold on to your hats, sci-fi fans, here comes a freight train. I know this science fiction shor story from the Golden Age of science fiction and it's a killer. this movie is based on a Lewis Pagett story about some children that find a "black box" filled with what they think are "toys."
As they play with the toys, their abilities begin to grow, far outstripping the genius level. By the time the adults catch on, the children are accessing planes of reality far beyond anything comprehensible to their parents.
This movie has the potential to be great, it has the most basic ingredient needed, a fantastic story, now all it needs is the right treament and the right director and actors. With modern special effects, this unassuming little movie could be a blockbuster. As a fan of the original story, I'm sure hoping it will be for the simple reason that I have always said there is a wealth of gold to be mined fromthe stories of the Golden Age that is barely tapped.
This movie may open the doors for a wealth of other movies based on classic sci-fi!
