Being a major Transformers fan of the cartoon since I was a kid, I had high expectations of this movie. I finally realized one of my dreams today by watching this movie. The movie did have it's ups and downs, but overall the movie was just sensational.
The bad part of the movie was the first 1/3rd movie. I mean, the movie basically starts off without much of an intro, and the first scene has a decepticon already in battle. However, after the first scene, you don't see much of the robots until almost half of the movie. However, this did build up anticipation, and set the movie up for the fanastic second half.
The good part of the movie was the second half, with all the battle action sequences. I must say, Michael Bay did a fantastic job making all the robots look real and life like. The only gripe I had was that they didn't have much character. What I mean specifically is that the robots didn't talk a lot, mostly the humans. I which we could have gotten more personality from the Autobots. The Decepticons barely talked themselves. Starscream is suppose to be Megatron's rivals, but you can't even tell that in the movie. They barely have interaction with one another.
Anyways, the movie is set up for the next 2 sequels. I don't want to give many spoilers, but yes, an Autobot does die (not saying which one), and the ending leads you up to more sequels (I hope they have the dinobots!). This was a fantastic movie with fantastic graphics, and I know it'll leave you mesmerized like myself.

I saw this movie tonight and it is a lot of fun. The special effects are incredible, but you expect that from a Michael Bay and Steve Spielberg movie. There are an incredible amount of stars in this movie, but what really made me enjoy the movie is the humor. On top of the never ending action, there was a lot of really funny parts.
Megan Fox is REALLY pretty and looks like a younger Jennifer Connelly. Very attractive actress with amazing eyes. It really is astounding that Shia LaBeouf has gone from playing every nerd in every movie to being a romantic action super star. He does a great job in the role and is a lot of fun to watch.
One of my favorites is Joshua Duhamel from the TV show Las Vegas, who is quickly becoming an action star himself. I see a lot of parallels to Will Smith and him in their delivery and movie star rise. I think he WILL be the next big leading man in Hollywood.
My only criticism, and this is a tiny point, is that the movie is really really long. they could have easily cut some of the fight scenes or other stuff to keep it under 2 hours. As it is it is 144 minutes long. That is a long time for a loud, fast, action movie.
I still HIGHLY recommend this movie as a great summer fun movie.
The story line follows the same plot from the original toys and movies from 20 years ago. From IMDB -
A long time ago, far away on the planet of Cybertron, a war was being waged between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) for control over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to whoever possessed it. The Autobots managed to smuggle the Allspark off the planet, but Megatron blasted off in search of it. He eventually tracked it to the planet of Earth (circa 1850), but his reckless desire for power sent him right into the Arctic Ocean, and the sheer cold forced him into a paralyzed state. His body was later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, and before going into a comatose state Megatron used the last of his energy to engrave a map, showing the location of the Allspark, into the Captain's glasses, and send a transmission to Cybertron. He is then carted away by the Captain's ship. A century later, Sam Witwicky, nicknamed Spike by his friends, buys his first car. To his shock, he discovers it to be Bumblebee, an Autobot in disguise who is to protect Spike, as he bears the Captain's glasses and the map carved on them. But Bumblebee is not the only Transformer to have arrived on Earth - in the desert of Qatar, the Decepticons Blackout and Scorponok attack a U.S. military base, causing the Pentagon to send their special Sector Seven agents to capture all "specimens of this alien race," and Spike and his girlfriend Mikaela find themselves in the middle of a grand battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, stretching from Hoover Dam all the way to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, within the depths of the Pentagon, the cryogenically stored form of Megatron awakens

| I saw it, but I didn't like it that much. I like the giant robots though. I also wasn't that big a fan of the cartoon.

| I just only know about transformer to After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. Megatron's dead body revives him using his own spark. Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own.
