The name desribes the plot. When you throw in Mel Brooks' comedic genuis, it is sure to be a riot. In the film he covers the caveman, the roman empire, the spainish inquisition, the last supper and The French Revolution.

This is one of those movies that really holds up ver time, I have gotten all three of my kids to watch it and they all ended up liking the movie, which is unusual in this house. This one is well worth seeing more than once, a real classic!

The Inquisition, what a show.. The Inquisition, here we go!
Brilliant movie. Very few made after it like this and it would probably never get made in today's politically correct world...which is sad.

It is sad that the humor wouldn't be as apprecaited now as it was then, I always had hoped Mel Brooks was going to do a part 2 but no such luck.
Classic line. Comicus- "Boy, (flicking point on sword) when you die at the palace you really DIE at the palace"
