| For me it's just way too much like witchcraft. I won't read the books or watch the movies. So that no one says how could you possibly know then, I did read bits and pieces of the first book. There are just too many things that go beyond fantasy and border on the evil. I am way picky about what I watch and what my kids watch and this just doesn't make the cut.

Personally, I think its purely fantasy rather than witchcraft. Even though it can be considered witchcraft, I don't see why the movie and books should be considered evil. I mean, from the start, the book is considered fiction, meaning none of this stuff is real. In my opinion, you should give it more of a chance. You're missing out on a lot of great stuff.

| well, in my opinion, I think its a combination of the two, a fantasy and a witchcraft... although I am not reading stuffs in witchcraft, I think some of it or some of what witchcraft's been doing is also being showed/ included in the movie... and perhaps, some of the tricks or words casted out are fact...

| I think witchcraft theme is just a part of the fantasy genre in movies, televisions, and books. But of course, there is a real witchcraft thing, if you know what I mean...

I totally agree. The only reason people object to the HP series is because its for kids. I believe that if it was a book or movie for grown ups, there wouldn't be half the fuss.
And why just Harry Potter? There are plenty of other kid books about magic, witches, and witchcraft that haven't been banned or anything.
