I live in Florida and it seems like 95% of the drivers think that their signal is for decoration only. Don't they realize that if it wasn't important the car manufacturer wouldn't have put it there???

Florida isn't the only state people think this All over the place people act like they don't know what blinkers are for.
How they gonna use them? Phone in one hand and something else in the other.

sorry to bring this back to the top but my story fits here well.
Today while taking my roommate to work we ended up in an accident.
scene:
2 lane street
left lane turn only
right lane turn or go straight
We were in the right lane this man in a white truck was in the left lane, the light turns off we go then bam the man slams right into the driver side of my car. You know those moments when you see something bad about to happen but don't have enough time to actually react, well thats how it was I saw the man out my eye but thought that maybe he was just turning really close to my car and the next thing I know we are sitting in the middle of the intersection. The car is not really messed up but its messed up the driver door gets stuck when you try to open it from the outside, there is a dent on both doors on the driver side.
No one was hurt or anything but I was really shook up after that. I now have a fear of that intersection. I almost got lost trying to go pick my roommate up from work just so I wouldn't have to turn at that intersection.Last edited on Sat Jan 6th, 2007 12:21 am by labrev

| OMG, you poor thing. WTF is wrong with these people? That just suxs. After a while you will be able to drive through the intersection again but it will never be the same, you will constantly find yourself on double alert while driving that particualar area. Always be thankful that no one was hurt,I'm glad you and your roommate are ok.

| yeah I know thats what were talking about, I'm so glad that it wasn't a bad accident, the officer that came out didn't file a report instead he just gave me all the man's stuff like his insurance info and his name and number so I will taking my car to dodge to get an estimate on the damage and stuff so his insurance can pay to get my car fixed if they cover that, this was my first accident and I have no idea how to go about all this so I will be calling my aunt so she can come and help with it. This really sucks cause I am my roommates only way to and from work, the city bus doesn't even run out where she works. Ahhhha today was just not my day.

I live in florida and I think it's because hardly anyone here was born here or speaks english. The ones that do are elderly and drive so slow that the lanes in front of them are clear for 100's of yards while traffic behind them just piles up...
I really try to accept that people that don't speak english or come here from somewhere else have the right to drive but I think they should take tests first, or have to prove they understand the driving laws or at least have insurance. Most of them do not, and when they get into accidents they pull all kinds of tricks -this has happened to us twice.
Florida is a bad place to be poor yet 99% of the jobs are service related. This means these poor immigrants have to drive illegally with uninsured cars to and from their two or three low paying jobs.
The fact that the roads are always crowded in the fort lauderdale and miami area is no surprise and neither is the huge number of accidents that happen here daily.
The drivers here are rude, too, yesterday someone pulled into my son's bus stop and just would not move until he was ready, either he was stupid, mean, rude or all three.

yeah I think people need to be tested to make sure they understand the road signs and stuff and also make sure they have insurance.
Since our accident there has been 2 other accidents at the same exact location, as a matter of fact it was an accident today at that intersection.
There was an accident a couple days ago not to far from my roommates job, then another one like 3 days later almost in the same spot.
My roommate was telling me how her co-worker was hit while trying to park in a parking space. Now thats just crazy.
People drive so crazy its a shame, not only do you have to drive for yourself but you need to be cautious, aware and keep in mind that you are not the only car on the road.

| Recently Maryland idiot drivers have been those who don't take the time to clear the ice off their car roofs. I have a full size van and took the time to make sure all of it was gone. We get on the road behind this little econo box and all of their ice starts flying at my windshield. At the red light we both pulled up to I turned and gave her the eye. She looked at me like ooops. I'm sorry but that's just not good enough. She could cause the death of my family because she didn't feel like taking five minutes if that to clean off her car roof!

| Sad how bad people drive, I dont like to drive behind or on the side of trucks or diesels. Around where I stay the drivers arent that bad, but out where julia works is where the people drive all crazy, I hate having to drive out there everyday, I look forward to Saturday and Sunday because no one is hardly on the freeway or the streets. The evening is when its really bad.
