i had seen daniel craig in layer cake and in munich so I knew he could act and could carry a movie. I think this movie was a bit muddled, but the mystery of what the modern day stalinists were hiding in the woods reminded me of the 'boys from brazil' in a way.

*spoiler alert*

there was a conspiracy to keep the secret that Stalin had an heir - the mother had been killed, her father had been killed, anyone who had knowledge of the scheme was killed and daniel craig is on the trail of the mystery in the cold russian winter.

he is almost killed many times and helps to expose the conspiracy that had been cooked up to continue the murderous reign of the man who had killed millions and millions of his own people. The plot to continue the terror of Stalin under the rule of his son is foiled, but in a really quick and thoughtless way in my opinion. They could have taken a little more time with the ending and it would have been a great movie.
