He played as a severley retarded man that the football team had locked in the shed and terrorized. The coach found him and he couldnt realy talk, just grunt and whine and mumble. The coach started spending time with him and asked his name and he never answered but he was playing with a radio in his office and said Radio, so they just started calling him Radio.

After awhile Radio would talk non stop! The whole town fell in love with him, except the bully and his dad. But eventually the bully came around, but still not the dad.

Radio never went to school, so the coach was also 11th grade teacher and let Radio set in class. He tried to learn him to write Radio, but he just wrote circles.

Radio became assistant football coach and an honarary 11th grade student for as long as he liked.

At the end it said he went to that school and was coach untill in his 50's. It was very moving!! I watched it twice in a row. Lydia still watching it over and over!Bobby seen it about 6 times already.
