|
This was the story of a boy who became a man and a ghost who would take control of him only at night and only in the presence of evil. Nicholas Cage plays the stunt motorcycle rider Johnny Blaze, fashioned after Evel Kneivel who becomes the Ghost Rider; Brett Cullen plays his stund driving dad, Peter Fonda plays his creator, Mephistopheles; Donal Logue plays his best friend and manager, Sam Elliott plays the cemetery caretaker and Eva Mendes plays the girl reporter/long lost childhood and high school love. and WesBentley plays the leader of the bad guy soul suckers, Blackheart.
As the bad guy old Wes has one of the best parts in the movie, Nic cage has a part that has it's moments but the sum is not greater than it's parts in this instance. There are some nice moments with his character that in no way add up to more than a role written for a comic book character with about as much depth as a comic book page. That said, I think Nic Cage was actually the best person for the job, breathing as much life into this character as is humanly possible. Eve Mendes is another matter entirely, in a role much too shallowly written, she brings nothing, no even good looks in some scenes, especially the closing scene, where she actually looks monstrous herself. Since she is there only as eye candy, this is inexcusable. She is a much worse actress even than the ever present J-Lo.
In my opinion the movie has great moments, a lot of fun, a nice ending but Eva Mendes was not the right person in her part and neither was Peter Fonda. I can imagine Christopher Walken having a blast with a role like this.... if only...

| I was amazed on the cinematography of this film like the flaming of the skull and some other scenes that captivated my eyes...Nicolas and Eva have a good chemistry on this movie..

| I was dying to see this for a very long time, but when I did I fell asleep. What I did watch of the movie it was pretty good.

| Felt too much like a kids movie this time around. I watched it all the way through without falling aslepp, and it wasn't that good.

Whose burning??? Nicholas Cage is really cool even his hot in this movie....This movie has a lot of special effects that make me go crazy....Ghost Rider motorcycle is the coolest among all motorcycle in the world!!!

Yup, this film is for kids also. My nephew is scared to see nicholas cage with that faces hehehehe.
