Every week I'll post 3 of my DVD picks of the week. Hopefully you'll enjoy this movies I recommend as much as I did.
1. Swingers - (starring Jon Favreau, Vince Vaughn and Ron Livingston) - this movie is one of those cool old school movies. It's about a man named Mike, and his friends who try to help him get over his ex-girlfriend. The movie is fun, filled with plenty of jokes, and you can't help but root for Mike in this movie.
2. Pan's Labyrinth - (starring Ivana Baquero, Sergi Lopez, and Doug Jones) - this is Spanish masterpiece directed by Guerillemo Del Toro. The movie is all in Spanish, so you probably have to turn on the English subtitles (unless you know Spanish of course). This story is basically an adult fairy tale. The ending will leave you speechless, and actually lets you interpret the ending the way you want it to be.
3. The Fountain - (Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weiz) - Magnificiant love movie that takes place in three places in time (the past, present and future). What is so spectacular about the movie is not only the sensational acting, but how the whole movie is tied together. Add that together with the breathtaking scenary, and this movie will leave you speechless.

I love Swingers. One of my all time great movies that I recommend to everyone. good call.
You know that Pan's is one of my favorites and it is on my recommended list also.
BUT I thought The Fountain is one of the worst movies in recent memory and I have seen it on some of "the worst" of all time lists. I know no one who even understood what the jumbled mess of a movie is talking about. It did not leave me speechless, but rather scratching our collective heads, lol

| Thanks for your opinions, TVDinner. I know we don't agree with the Fountain, but it's nice to see what others think of the movie was well.

It's the beginning of a new week, so it's time for 3 new recommendations. Here we go!
1. When Harry Met Sally - (Starring Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan, and Carrie Fisher) - Harry believes that a man can't be friends with a woman because sex will eventually get in the way of their friendship. Sally believes the opposite, that men and women can coexist without sex messing up their relationship. This movie ends with one of these two being right. What makes this love movie different from other love movies is it's sophiticateness. Sure, this movie is a little old school, but it's fun, charming, and witty, and a lot better then many of the love movies coming out today. It's different than most other love movies and it's one that you're sure to love.
2. Memento (Guy Pearce and Carrie Ann Moss) - This film goes from the ending to the beginning, and it's quite clever how they do it. The movie begins at the ending, and you figure out the shocking twist of the movie at the end of the movie (which is the beginning of the story). The movie is about a man who has a memory problem, and forgets new memories about every 15 minutes. All he knows is his wife has been murdered, and he needs to figure out the killer of his wife. The only clues is the tatoos he has imprinted on his body. His chase for his murderer gets dangerous as the movie progresses. Without being able to store new memories for more then 15 minutes, who can be trusted, and who are the allies? Figure it out in this groundbreaking film directed by Christopher Nolan.
3. 300 (Gerald Butler and Lena Headey) - Did you love Sin City? How about Lord of the Rings? Well, if you loved either one, or even both, then you're certain to love this movie. This is basically a combination of both Sin City and LoTRs. The movie is about the Spartan king, Leonidas, who leads his 300 men to war to fight for their freedom againsts the thousands of Persions and the rest of Xerxes army. The task seems impossible, but can it be done? Don't watch this movie not only for it's incredible story, but for the sensational graphics. It's literally breathtaking.

Are you sure it is every 15 mins?

| It seems that each scene onlylast for 15 minutes so we can only assume it's 15 minute memory.

| Yeah, I'm not 100% sure it's 15 minutes, but in the movie his memory lasts for only a few minutes. Sorry guys for misleading you on my review :(

This week I'll only have 1 review, basically because I'm going to be reviewing a whole TV on DVD series. Here we go:
House: Season 3 - (Starring Hugh Laurie, Lisa Edelstein, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, and Jennifer Morrison) - The whole gang is back in this awesome series that is a basically a mix of the X-Files and ER. House returns in Season 3, and we find out what happens from when we last left him. The end of season 2 we see him shot by one of his patients going into surgery, but he also requests for a surgery to fix his leg. Season 3 begins with House, coming back to work for the first time since he was shot, and his leg looks cured. This season features all 24 episodes seen of FOX, and brings even more challenges that not only messes with the life of House, but strain his relationship with his colleagues and friends (well, friend, he only has 1).
One major story arc in Season 3 features Detective Tritter, whom House had as a patient. After not treating him well, Tritter decides to take House down, and tries his best to make House suffer in anyway possible. Tritter put's House's relationships to the test, and even pushes House and Wilson's friendship to the brink.
Another storyline that occurs in the second half of the season is the developing romance between Cameron and Chase. Chase basically falls in love with Cameron, but Cameron doesn't feel the same for Chase, at least not yet.
The other major storyline in this season is Foreman's major mistake. His major mistake causes a patient to die, and that causes him to rethink about his whole career. He doesn't want to become House, and decides it's time to leave. The season leaves us off with another major cliffhanger, as not only Foreman leaves, but Cameron decides to resign and move up, and Chase gets fired from House.
For me, it seems like every season just seems to get better. Season 3 is definitely the best of the 3 seasons to date, and not only we see a lot of drama, but there are plenty of the fun and insane crazy antics that House provides. Heck, this show even produced higher ratings than Grey's Anatomy by season's end last year. If you are a House fan, then this is a must get for your DVD collection today.
